The Kemikaze emblem — an ornate gold eye

About

Kemikaze is a pen name. The eye is the face. That's all the biography you're getting — and honestly, it's all you need. The books are the part that matters.

Here's what I'll tell you instead.

I've been consuming stories my whole life — books, shows, games, all of it. Somewhere along the way the itch flipped: I stopped wanting the next one and started wanting to tell my own. So I did.

What I wanted to write was a smart character who is actually smart. I've closed too many books on the "genius" who predicts the future out of nothing, or lands the one-in-a-thousand gamble like it's a Tuesday, or looks brilliant only because the author made everyone around him an idiot. The whole cast fears him, the narrator keeps calling him clever, and then he does something… fine. That isn't intelligence. That's plot armor with a vocabulary.

So my rule: if a character is smart, you get to watch the smart happen. The setup is on the page. The read of the room is on the page. When the move lands you can flip back and see every piece of it — surprising in the moment, obvious in hindsight. And when he's genuinely challenged, he feels it. No free wins.

That rule built The Scheming God, and it'll build whatever comes next.

The other rule is simpler: it has to be fun. I'm not here to make you suffer for your art. Some of my favorite books are The Primal Hunter andMagic 2.0 — the kind you read at 2 a.m. telling yourself "one more chapter" — and that feeling is the whole target. If you close one of my books grinning, I did my job.

What I write will change. The first series is dark fantasy with a cold streak of humor; the next might be something else entirely. The pen name is the constant; the books are visitors. Each series gets its own home, and this site is where they all connect.
